Learning and Growing:
Developing a deeper understanding of Torah values and Israel's role in the world
The Idea
Yiddishkeit tasks us with a responsibility to inspire ourselves and others to elevate the entire world to create a דירה לו יתברך בתחתונים.
תורה rules (משנה גיטין ד:ה) that we have an obligation that every human being should lead a productive existence (לשבת יצרה).
One of the absolutely highest acts a Jew can do is create a קידוש השם, which very much includes how non-Jews view us.
The Rebbe was foremost among the sages of this and previous generations to have vigorously championed the idea of many as wide a Jewish impact on the world as possible . A great example is התוועדויות תשמ"ז ח"ב ע' 403.
The learning this project will facilitate will awareness that one's interest in bettering the world does not need to come from a secular or non-Orthodox perspective, but can be rooted in and guided by authentic תורה.
